Advantages of non-stick cookware

When it comes to cooking for a family, the frustrations can be unlimited. First you have to decide what it is that you will be preparing for those screaming tummies. Time also becomes a factor when hungry stomachs are directly related to grumpy faces. Then comes the deal breaker, and the biggest frustration most cooks have, food that sticks to your cookware.

Many critics have rambled on about the dangers and health risks of non-stick or tefal coated cookware because of dodgy chemicals contained in these surfaces. Newer non-stick surfaces developed over the last few years based on ceramic and diamond coatings have removed or replaced these unwanted chemicals, and research has proven that anti-stick cookware can actually be a healthier alternative to those cast iron pots and pans.

The reason for this statement is simple. Anti-stick cookware requires little to no oil or fat to cook food. Less fat, means healthier bodies. Yes, fat is a critical part of a healthy diet, but cooking with lumps of butter or liters of oil smashes the required fat limit for the day. Sure some food such as fish and chicken requires oil, but excessive amounts do more harm than good. When using oil, the healthy alternative would be olive oil.

Cleaning cookware can also become a burden when everything seems to stick to the pan. With non stick coated cookware, you don't have to worry about seeing the doctor for high blood pressure when you feel like throwing that pan against the wall, and your cholesterol levels will also be more desirable. Using warm soap water and a kitchen sponge you will be able to clean your non-stick pots and pans effortlessly.
